2015 Conventions
Conventions I attended/will attend in 2015! Costumes worn are pictured to the left with a short blurb on my thoughts about the convention to the right, along with dates and cosplays worn. Cosplay premieres are notated using italics. Major changes to a costume (a re-premiere, if you will), are denoted by an asterisk*.
I attended far more conventions than was reasonably healthy this year. Rest assured, I've learned my lesson. For 2016, I'll be going to fewer conventions and focusing on cosplay quality over quantity. And also real life. Focusing on real life is important too.
New York Comic Con
Dates: October 8-12
Costumes: Tigress, Megara, Katniss*, Nightmare Moon*
I'm very excited to be going to NYCC again! I'm going to be hanging out with some awesome people, and just generally running around having a good time.
Garden State Comic Fest
Dates: July 25-26
Costumes: Beach Wonder Woman, Formal!Baby Groot*
I had a really fun time at this convention just derping around with my friends and meeting some amazing cosplayers. I also got a comissioned drawing of my Groot cosplay which makes me very happy :D
Too Many Games
Dates: June 27-28
Costumes: Formal!Baby Groot, Twilight Sparkle
This con was really fun and full of awesome music and games. Like a mini-MAGFest! I'll definitely be going back next year.
AwesomeCon
Dates: May 29-31
Costumes: Professor Trelawney, Queen Regina, Twilight Sparkle
AwesomeCon was a blast! It's still pretty new, but a fantastic downtown location and a stellar guest lineup made it a phenomenal experience. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow even more!
Wizard World Philadelphia
Dates: May 7-10
Costumes: Nightmare Moon, Monster in the Dark, Artemis Crock, Formal!Baby Groot
Wizard World honestly kind of stressed me out. I was trying to finish four different costumes for four different people for our Young Justice shoot, and I was too tired to really appreciate the con. Hopefully I've learned my lesson...
Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2)
Dates: April 29-31
Costumes: Artemis Crock, Queen Regina
So apart from the airline screwing up and leaving my luggage back at my home airport, this was great! I got my suitcase in the next morning, so I was at least able to cosplay for two of the three days. I don't know if I'll do C2E2 again next year, if only because it's so far away (and it might get replaced with PAX East). I'd love to go again, but I frankly don't know if I'll have the time and/or money.
The Great Philadelphia Comic Con
Dates: April 3-5
Costumes: Formal!Baby Groot
I only went for one day, Saturday, of the Great Philadelphia Comic Con as Groot. I got tpo play photographer, met some wonderful guests, saw some good friends, and I also got recognized for the first time! :D
Zenkaikon
Dates: March 19-22
Costumes: Katniss Everdeen, Queen Regina
Zenkai was a really amazing local con. I went for Saturday and Sunday. I spent most of my time with my friend Queen Ally Cosplay. On Sunday, both of us dressed in the same Regina outfit. We terrorized that everyone, it was great! I also had a couple really good shoots of Katniss, which makes me very happy. And I played photographer for the first time with my little point'n'shoot, which was great.
Katsucon
Dates: February 13-15
Costumes: Nightmare Moon, Queen Regina, Formal!Baby Groot, Sailor Saturn, Avatar Kyoshi
My first year at Katsu, and it immediately jumped to the top of my favored conventions list. So many amazing costumes, so many amazing people, such an amazing venue... and I was drafted into a Sailor Moon group! I will definitely be coming back next year, and I'm psyched!
MAGFest
Dates: January 23-26
Costumes: Monster in the Dark, Arwen, Professor Trelawney
Because who says you have to wear game cosplays to a game convention?! MAGFest was an amazing non-stop gaming party with music squished in the non-party bits. SO MUCH FUN and I really want to go next year; we'll have to see how that works with Katsucon.
